Leucadendron Magenta
Leucadendron Magenta features bold magenta-toned bracts with subtle green undertones, creating rich colour depth for bouquet mixes and wholesale floral lines. With strong stems, reliable grading and good vase life, it is an export-ready hybrid.
Leucadendron laureolum x Leucadendron salignum, marketed as Leucadendron Magenta, is a hybrid variety prized for its saturated bract colour. Bracts range from deep magenta to burgundy with green highlights, offering contrast and intensity in large-scale bouquet work and mass-market floral programmes. It is versatile for use in bouquet production, seasonal promotions, supermarket floral lines, and wholesale straight-line bunches. Cultivated by supplier farms in the Western Cape of South Africa, it is produced to export standards.
Quality & Handling
- All stems are cut at the correct maturity with consistent lengths, tight grading, and clean foliage. Bracts and cones are checked for uniform colour and integrity.
- Field heat is removed immediately after harvest through cold-shock, and product is maintained under an unbroken cold chain from farm to freight.
- Vase life is typically 12–18 days, extended to 21 days when handled optimally. Re-cut stems by 2–3 cm at a sharp angle, remove any foliage below the waterline, and place in clean buckets with fresh water or preservative solution.
- Hydrate for at least 4–6 hours before onward distribution or display.
- Not strongly ethylene-sensitive, but chronic exposure shortens vase life and reduces market quality.
- Lead times and freight rates vary by destination.
- All products are subject to seasonal availability, please contact us for current availability, pricing and export options.
- Bulk pricing available for large-volume orders; minimum order quantities apply.
- Dedicated export solutions with competitive freight arrangements.
