Protea Susara
Protea Susara presents medium to large heads in warm pink tones with silvery highlights, offering a versatile focal stem for bouquet programmes and retail floral ranges. Its sturdy stems and grading consistency make it a reliable choice for bulk exports.
Protea Susara (Protea magnifica × Protea susannae) is a well-known hybrid variety that combines the large flower form of Protea magnifica with the softer colouring of Protea susannae. It displays overlapping bracts in rosy pink to salmon tones with subtle silvery hues, framed by broad, leathery foliage. This hybrid’s balanced head size and colour palette make it highly versatile for bouquet fillers, straight-line bunches, premium retail floral programmes, and seasonal promotions. Locally cultivated in South Africa, Protea Susara has become a staple export protea due to its consistent performance and strong market demand.
