Leucadendron Ulka (Leucadendron discolor x Leucadendron laureolum) combines the upright form of L. discolor with the bright green freshness of L. laureolum. The result is a uniform, leafy product with dense spear-shaped bracts in a vivid lime tone, lightly flushed with red depending on the season. Cultivated in South Africa, this hybrid is widely used in mass-market retail floral lines, straight-line bunches, and large-scale bouquet programmes. Its fresh green tones provide balance in mixed arrangements and versatility across seasonal promotions.

Quality & Handling

  • All stems are cut at the correct maturity with consistent lengths, tight grading, and clean foliage. Bracts and cones are checked for uniform colour and integrity.
  • Field heat is removed immediately after harvest through cold-shock, and product is maintained under an unbroken cold chain from farm to freight.
  • Vase life is typically 12–18 days, extended to 21 days when handled optimally. Re-cut stems by 2–3 cm at a sharp angle, remove any foliage below the waterline, and place in clean buckets with fresh water or preservative solution.
  • Hydrate for at least 4–6 hours before onward distribution or display.
  • Not strongly ethylene-sensitive, but chronic exposure shortens vase life and reduces market quality.
  • Lead times and freight rates vary by destination.
  • All products are subject to seasonal availability, please contact us for current availability, pricing and export options.
  • Bulk pricing available for large-volume orders; minimum order quantities apply.
  • Dedicated export solutions with competitive freight arrangements.
